The Challenges

In early 2016, Anser was awarded a construction management and engineering services on-call contract with the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG). Anser provides resident engineering and inspection services on several task orders under this contract with projects ranging from bikeways to light rail transit (LRT) and catenary systems.

The Broadway Wye Improvements Project upgraded portions of the Overhead Catenary System (OCS) and Traction Power Substation (TPSS) on the San Diego Trolley, Inc. (SDTI) Light Rail Transit (LRT) system to meet new GO9 95 safety requirements. The project was in the heart of downtown San Diego adjacent to the busy Santa Fe Depot.

The Orange Line Catenary Rehabilitation Project upgraded portions of the Overhead Catenary System (OCS) and Traction Power Substation (TPSS) on the San Diego Trolley, lnc. (SDTI) Light Rail Transit (LRT) system to meet new GO 95 safety requirements. The OCS work took place at over 200 various locations along 16 miles of double track in San Diego County.

The Old Town Shelter Rehab Project consisted of the demo of existing bus & trolley shelters, construction of new bus & trolley shelters which included structure grade plastic lumber SGPL frame, standard lumber decking, roofing system (waterproofing, copper flashing & shingles), precast cladding, painting, electrical works and LED lights.

The Green Line Shelter Rehab Project consisted of the demo of existing trolley shelters, construct new trolley shelters which contained footings, steel structure frame, roofing system (DensDeck gypsum board, waterproofing & standing seam sheathing), precast cladding, concrete paving, painting, electrical & communication works and LED lights.
