The Challenges

The E. 140th St. Relief and Consolidation Sewer Project consists of approximately 14,000 linear feet of 60-inch to 84-inch pipe-in-tunnel, 8 access shafts, a gate control vault, 6,800 feet of 12-inch to 54-inch diameter consolidation and relief sewers, an 84-inch diameter overflow sewer, a new regulator structure and connection to the Heights-Hilltop Interceptor, three stormwater detention basins, 12,000 feet of 12-inch to 54-inch diameter storm sewers, regulator improvements, junction chambers, and other sewer improvements. H.R. Gray, an Anser Advisory Company, provided construction inspection services to the four yearlong E. 140th St. Relief and Consolidation Sewer Project. This project is part of Project Clean Lake, a 25-year program to reduce pollution to Lake Erie and its tributaries.
